Original role description

1. Training objectives and platform

Fudan University and Innogen are jointly establishing a postdoctoral training platform combining artificial intelligence and biomedicine. Supporting national priorities in metabolic disease prevention and biomedical innovation, the programme aims to develop interdisciplinary researchers with AI and computational thinking, expertise in metabolic disease mechanisms, and practical experience in translating drug research.

Innogen focuses on innovative medicines for metabolic diseases. Its independently developed efsubaglutide alfa has reached the market; the source describes it as Asia's first and the world's third new-generation human-derived ultra-long-acting GLP-1 medicine. As a leading Chinese research institution, Fudan University has strengths in life sciences, medicine, materials science and artificial intelligence, providing an outstanding research and training environment for postdoctoral fellows.

2. Expert advisory team

Postdoctoral fellows will receive joint supervision from specialists in medicine, engineering, pharmacy and computation, including:

  • Professor Qinghua Wang, founder of Innogen: a nationally appointed distinguished professor, inventor of efsubaglutide alfa and several innovative large-molecule medicines, with extensive leadership in translational research and commercialisation for metabolic diseases.

  • Professor Dejing Dou, Fudan University: a national leading talent and internationally recognised specialist in health AI, listed among the world's top 2% of scientists for career-long impact. He provides guidance on advanced AI methodology.

  • Professor Lin Yu, Fudan University: a specialist in biomedical materials and drug delivery, supporting engineering and formulation optimisation of drug candidates.
